In a city like London, where there’s a lot of pollution in terms of light, sound, and air, it is easy to forget that there are many places where one can find peace and tranquillity.
This project aims to (re)discover some natural places in London and how people connect to nature.
The places covered in this project so far are Epping Forest, Hampstead Heath, Richmond Park, and Chorleywood Common.
After spending more than a year in London, I realised that this place is way prettier than I initially thought it was. I could even connect to my home albeit being thousands of miles away. I finally felt like I could be a Londoner and be myself at the same time. That’s why I opted to undertake this project, drawn by my habitual retreat to nature's sanctuary, where I can escape the clamour of urban living, so I can recharge and be ready again to be social.
All around you, nurtured were they,
Then, generations grew in your sway.
You were our singular mother, true,
Yet motherhood from you, many knew
